Docs Ireland x aemi: Desire Lines + Q&A

6:00 PM 17th June 2026 Queen's Film Theatre

Docs Ireland presents a new programme of Irish and international experimental cinema, followed by a Q&A with featured filmmakers, Chloe Brenan, Olivia Normile and Eóin Heaney.

aemi is delighted to present a touring programme that brings together a variety of innovative approaches to the documentary form from contemporary Irish and international filmmakers.

‘Desire Lines’ is a term from the field of landscape architecture used, as Sara Ahmed writes to describe ‘unofficial paths... where people deviate from the paths they are supposed to follow.’ Taken as a whole, the films here offer up a picture of imposed and chosen deviation, a picture that takes in experiences of isolation and displacement alongside those of collective resistance and revelation.
