Autism Support Kilkeel is a registered charity helping children and young adults on the Autism Spectrum to reach their full potential.
Formed on the 10th May 2011 Autism Support Kilkeel provides support and life enhancing services for people living with or suspected of having an autism spectrum disorder (ASD and their families/carers in the Newry Mourne and Down Area.
As an autism diagnosis crosses all borders and boundaries our group is made up of families from all walks of life. Acceptance and a non-judgmental environment are what we promote.
Autism is lifelong and effect the way an individual relates to people, situations and the immediate environment. Many Individuals with autism have difficulty processing everyday sensory information like smells, touch, tastes and sounds. Individual with autism can face barriers in relation to equal access to a range of services including health and education.
We provide free support. counselling, education/training and information on services and provide or assist in the provision of early intervention programmes such as Music Therapy and Equine Therapy to build on the child/young person’s individual strengths enabling them to achieve their full potential.
