Less than 2 weeks until Cinema Day 2016

Cinema Day, presented by Film Hub NI (part of the Film Audience Network), is a new initiative which celebrates 120 years of film exhibition in Northern Ireland.

On the evening of Sunday 28th August and all day on Monday 29th August, organisations across NI will host fantastic film events, both acknowledging the rich film heritage we have and celebrating the strength and diversity of all those involved with making and showing films in the present day, from commercial venues to small film clubs and all those in-between!

From the first screening at The Alhambra, North Street in Belfast in 1896 right up to current events at cinemas and festivals, Northern Irish audiences have always loved the magic of the silver screen and what better way to celebrate this than with £1 classics, historical talks, documentaries, animations, screenings in inventive places and much more! Check out the events, grab some friends and indulge in a little cinema magic with Film Hub NI!
